Designing for Sustainability and School Safety in Springfield

Designing for Sustainability and School Safety in Springfield

On August 13, 2024, we were honored to present our recycled PET clear backpacks to Mr. Satya Tripathi, Secretary-General of the Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet at the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP). This moment represented more than a product showcase, and it reflected our commitment to addressing real-world challenges through thoughtful design.

Designed and produced by our team using recycled PET materials, these clear backpacks combine sustainability with an added layer of school safety. In communities like Springfield, Massachusetts; where schools continue to navigate the realities of campus safety,

transparent bags are increasingly recognized as a preventative measure that helps create safer learning environments while respecting students’ daily needs.

By reimagining recycled materials into functional, purpose-driven designs, we aim to support both environmental responsibility and community well-being. We are deeply grateful to the  for the opportunity to share this work and to engage in meaningful conversations about sustainability, safety, and the role design can play in protecting what matters most.
